Our 8th Annual FORE Children & Families Golf Classic was a success!

On Friday, April 22, 2016, 35 foursomes gathered at Strawberry Farms Golf Club for a day of friendly competition on the green. 18 holes later, all participants gathered at The Barn of Strawberry Farms for a night filled with delicious food and to try their luck with the plethora of raffle and auction items available for them to take home.

From a dozen golf balls to a  Business Class Round Trip ticket to Asia, no one went home empty handed.

Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to all our sponsors, donors, and participants!!!

We are already working on our next annual event (our Benefit Concert), and we look forward to another round of golf with you all next year!

Our long awaited golf tournament is tomorrow!

We are REALLY excited for what tomorrow will bring:

  • A friendly competition among all the partners and friends of KYCC
  • A day of sun, wide open spaces, and fresh air
  • Our Reception and Awards Dinner where we are raffling and auction off some AMAZING gifts!!!

Did we mention that we are auctioning off a basketball signed by the Black Mamba himself???

Come back and visit our page for pictures from the event!

Unagi, hamachi, and toro... Oh my!

Arado Sushi opened its doors in 1995 with one goal: to serve fresh, delicious sushi and sashimi to residents and visitors of Los Angeles' Koreatown. Their menu features amazing Japanese and Korean selections (so there's no need to worry if you're squeamish about raw seafood). From lunch specials to combos that can feed the whole party, Arado is open seven days a week and ready to satisfy your cravings.

At this year's FORE Children & Families Golf Classic, we will raffle away a $100 gift certificate to Arado - that's a whole lot of uni, salmon, and ikura for the lucky winner!

Want to get away?

Those who have ever been bitten by the travel bug can relate to the itch: the restlessness that takes over your mind and body as you contemplate a temporary (or maybe even a not-so-temporary) change in scenery from your everyday life. Whether it's sitting out by the beautiful beaches of Palau, soaking in the rich history of Rome, or getting lost in the busy streets of Hong Kong, Asiana will get you to your destination(s) in comfort and style.

At this year's FORE Children & Families Golf Classic, participants will be able to bid on a Business Class Ticket from Asiana Airlines for an opportunity to explore Korea. Coupled with Asiana's exceptional customer service, one lucky bidder is guaranteed a luxurious trip to or from a country filled with friendly people, amazing food, and streets that never sleep.

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is "fore" children & families!

The Wilshire & Western Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf's new GM Frank Sanchez is ready to build deeper and more meaningful relationships with the community he serves everyday. His first order of business? To find ways to give back to his community in whatever ways CBTL can.

Frank's predecessors have been longtime supporters of KYCC's special events. The first year they partnered with us to serve the community, they provided carafe after carafe of hot coffee for our 80+ staff, 100+ volunteers and 2500+ participants of our Holiday Carnival. Since then, the branch has always been willing to donate to our events - big and small.

This year is no different.

For our upcoming FORE Children & Families Golf Classic, Wilshire & Western's CBTL will donate iced coffee with all the fixings for all our sponsors, participants, and volunteers!!!

What's a better way to kick start a day on the green than with a nice, cold, strong cup of coffee???

FOUND a good cup of coffee lately?

Annie Choi is the owner of Eagle Rock-based Found Coffee. She designed her business to be "for and by the community." Found coffee is a place where customers can find more than just a really good cup of coffee; It's where you can find or build a community of the best kind: one grounded in your mutual love for great espressos (pun intended).

For KYCC's 8th Annual FORE Children & Families Golf Classic, Found Coffee will donate a raffle prize for one lucky winner: a selection of coffee-licious goodness all highly recommended by their baristas and customers!

If you are ever in Eagle Rock (or even just passing by) and are in the mood for a tasty cup of coffee, stop by Found Coffee and maybe - just maybe - you'll find yourself a new community!

Not sure how to break yourself in to a new coffee shop?

Why not start with a celebration? On Saturday, April 16th, Found Coffee will celebrate its one year birthday, and Annie would love to invite any and all coffee lovers to come and join the festivities! The celebration will start bright and early at 7:00 AM, and the party won't stop until 6:00 PM. Please come by to support and enjoy the community that Annie and her baristas have been building for the past year.

A day on the green means a day in the sun...

Dermatologists have been warning us about the dangers of going about our daily lives without proper skin protection from the sun. The Essentials line of sun care products is Rodan & Fields' answer to an increasing demand for sun protection products that also improve your skin - why be on the defense against UV rays when you can be on the offense against aging skin altogether?

During this year's raffle, one lucky winner will take home a gift basket filled with selected items from Rodan & Fields' Essentials line. From sunscreen to moisturizer to lip balm to sunless tanning lotions, R&F's Essentials line provides multiple ways for you to do more for your skin than simply blocking out harmful UV rays.

Rodan and Fields is reinventing the way people care for their skin.

By partnering with independent business owners all over the United States, R&F is popping up on social media platforms everywhere with before and after pictures of real people displaying real results. Users love the way each line specifically targets common skin troubles and how effective the products are without the use of injections or other invasive procedures.

What's YOUR word?

What VIRTUE do you want more of in your life?

What is a CHALLENGE you want to OVERCOME?

What is a PASSION you want to spend more time on?

The MyIntent Project joins forces with KYCC at our upcoming FORE Children & Families golf Classic! These hand-engraved bracelets will be available for pre-order and on-site purchase during our upcoming tournament.

Individuals are asked to think of a word (up to twelve letters) that represents their intention. The word is then hand-engraved on to a token that can be worn as a bracelet.

The goal of the MyIntent Project is to give individuals a chance to think deeply about their purpose and goals in life. Every time the wearer catches a glimpse of their personalized token, he/she is reminded of why they chose that word in the first place. It also opens the door to more meaningful conversations with others as the wearer is prompted to share the significance behind their intention.

The MyIntent Project is not just for individuals - this is a great way to decide what purpose or intention your family, company, or group of friends will stand for.

Through our golf tournament, you can purchase two MyIntent bracelets for $20. 50% of all profits will be donated back to KYCC. If you are interested in pre-ordering your MyIntent bracelet, please visit our Golf events page and complete the form at the bottom.

Not able to attend our golf tournament?

No need to worry! Visit their website to order your very own MyIntent creation or for a greater variety of color and style combinations!
